A Piece of Berkeley Springs History
This home sits in Berkeley Springs’ historic district, and like many homes of its era, it was built with narrower, steeper stairways than you’ll find in new construction — both the steps up to the front entrance and the staircase to the upstairs bedrooms. It’s part of the character of staying in a historic home! We’ve added handrails throughout, and we just ask that you use them, especially at night, with luggage, or in wet weather.
This home is self-check-in — you’ll have full access to the living spaces, bedrooms, kitchen, and bathroom. A few kitchen cabinets, storage boxes, and closet storage lockers are reserved for owner use and kept locked; these aren’t part of the guest space.

Berkeley Springs, WV — often called “America’s First Spa Town” — has drawn visitors to its mineral springs since George Washington’s day. The historic Roman Bath House and Berkeley Springs State Park sit right in the heart of downtown, surrounded by a walkable stretch of independent shops, art galleries, antique stores, and local restaurants. It’s a small, easygoing town with a strong arts-and-wellness character — spa treatments, live music, and seasonal festivals celebrating local food, crafts, and the springs themselves are all part of the rhythm here.
Getting around downtown is easy on foot — you won’t need a car for shops, spas, or dinner. For day trips farther out, Route 9 and Route 522 connect quickly to Cacapon Resort State Park (hiking, golf, mountain views) and the Cacapon River for kayaking and tubing. Hagerstown, MD is about a 40-minute drive via I-70, and Winchester, VA is roughly 45–50 minutes — both easy options if you want to venture beyond town. Rideshare service is limited in this area, so having a car is recommended if you plan to explore beyond downtown.

-Please note: both the exterior stairs leading up to the front entrance and the interior staircase to the upstairs bedrooms are steep. Please use the handrails and take extra care, especially at night, in wet weather, or when carrying luggage.

For stays of 13 nights or longer, we schedule bi-weekly professional cleaning to keep the home feeling fresh throughout your visit — billed separately from your nightly rate ($100)
